Design Analysis

The systematic, quantitive analysis of electronic and mechanical systems to improve structural integrity and product performance.

What is it?

Used when an engineering problem has complex loading conditions, Finite Element Analysis (FEA)/ Stress Analysis improves product design. FEA can be used to identify areas of high loading and possible sites of fatigue initiation. The use of such tools could prompt a re-think of design or loading and even instigate more significant change with the employment of CAD facilities.

Mechanical analysis and simulation is a challenging but rewarding area. Using various methods, our experts can create virtual representations of components and systems that simulate real world behavior under a variety of loads and constraints. The results produced by these simulations can then be used to aid in the design process, or to resolve an existing performance or reliability problem.

By combining extremely experienced analysts with the very best tools available, the Engineering Design CIC has established itself as a provider of world-class mechanical analysis services.

What are the benefits?

Every effort is made to understand the underlying requirements of the customer so that the anaylsis results are meaningful and are useful from both a qualitative and a quantitative perspective. Once the analysis is completed, the CIC staff who conducted the work explain their methodology and provide the customer with all of the data that is needed to independently reproduce the results.

The Engineering Design CIC is capable of supplying the analysis and simulation support that you need.

How can you get involved?

If you think you and your company could benefit from learning more about this area and/or would like to discuss how we could provide a bespoke package that could directly improve your product's market position then please contact: Colm Watling, c.watling@engineeringdesigncentre.co.uk
